Funding of community groups

KCDT holds a small pot of funding for community groups that you can apply for if you have a good idea.

 

If you run a community group in Kirknewton, you can apply for some funding from KCDT. The funding will be for a specific purpose (e.g. materials, an event, etc.), and not structural funding. For example, in the past KCDT has donated money to Kirknewton primary, Kirknewton football team, Primary 7 leavers disco, Kirknewton brownies and rainbows, and various Christmas parties. The pot of funding comes from the Community Draw.
 

How to apply

• You can apply for funding by contacting KCDT.

• In your application, please specify how much you are applying for and what it will be used for.

• Decisions are made based on how the funding it will help the KCDT's objectives, and will also take into consideration if you've had any funding in the past and what that was spent on. A reminder of the KCDT's objectives:

  • to advance citizenship and/or community development;

  • to advance education and promote learning for everyone;

  • to help young people to develop their physical, mental, and spiritual capacities;

  • to advance environmental protection and green spaces;

  • to promote domestic (renewable) energy efficiency;​

  • to relieve (fuel) poverty; and

  • to establish and support other similar charitable projects for the benefit of the Kirknewton community. 

• Receipts must be provided to KCDT after the funds are spent for our administration.
